行政院重啟科技顧問會議 以國家戰略高度,提出科技發展布局建言

睽違12年,行政院將於2023年底重啟科技顧問會議,由行政院院長擔任召集人,期待透過新任科技顧問群與國內產官學界進行對話,共同擘劃未來臺灣重要科技方針。為確立議題討論方向,行政院昨(6)日以實體加視訊會議方式召開會前會,由科技顧問會議副召集人、行政院政務委員兼國科會主任委員吳政忠主持,邀集國內外重要科技顧問進行意見交換,均認同半導體、人工智慧、淨零科技等為影響國家、甚至全球發展的重要議題,將作為年底全體顧問會議的討論基礎。

Taiwan-Germany relations make history on March 21! At the invitation of Na-tional Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Minister Tsung-Tsong Wu, German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Federal Minister of Education and Research Bettina Stark-Watzinger will lead a delegation to Taiwan from March 21 to 22. This marks the first ministry-level German official to visit Taiwan since 1997.

A New Platform for Scientific Research Cooperation between Taiwan and the US-The NSTC Announces the Official Launch of the Taiwan Science and Technology Hub

On January 3, National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Minister Tsung-Tsong Wu held a press conference for the launch of the Taiwan Science and Technology Hub (Taiwan S&T Hub). The NSTC established the Taiwan S&T Hub at Stanford University to integrate a wide breadth of resources, which span from scientific research, academia, start-ups, and talent cultivation, into a single platform that will be crucial in promoting cooperation between Taiwan and the US. Through cross-ministry cooperation, the Taiwan S&T Hub will also hold a series of academic and scientific research conferences, symposiums, and workshops at Stanford University and the surrounding areas in the near future to enhance Taiwan’s international profile and impact in S&T.

Space Technology and 6G

Over the past 30 years, Taiwan has established basic space center infrastructure, including integration and testing, research and development laboratories, satellite operation and control facilities, ground stations, and satellite image processing centers. During this period, Taiwan has established a number of space technology capabilities, especially in the fields of satellite platforms, high-resolution remote sensing payloads, multi-satellite operation and control systems, satellite image processing and analysis, and sounding rocket systems. In the future, in addition to continuing to promote the basic research of space science, personnel training and the development of the space industry, it will gradually move towards the goal of building two types of satellite constellations, telemetry satellites and communication satellites.

Our national cyber security policy has undergone systematic development in the first five stages, and gradually achieved the scheduled milestones to effectively reinforce the readiness of national cyber security. The objectives are as follows: 'the establishment of a safe environment of cyber security; the completion of cyber security protection management; sharing of multiple cybersecurity information; the expansion of the cultivation of cyber security talents; and the reinforcement of international cyber security exchanges.'.

Achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 is a global endeavor and a national objective for Taiwan, whose success will be heavily reliant upon scientific innovation and technological breakthroughs. To this end, in March 2022 the government published a plan for Taiwan's Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050, which identified five main areas for the development of net-zero-related science and technology, and in March the following year approved a net-zero science and technology program.
